Noise, Air, and Surface Sampling
WorkSafeBC regulations (section 5.48) require employers to ensure workers are not exposed to substances above established exposure limits. Employers must also assess workplace noise levels if workers may be exposed to hazardous noise.
Apex provides noise sampling and comprehensive air and surface testing for a wide range of contaminants, delivering accurate results and practical insights to support workplace safety and compliance.
Commonly tested contaminants include, but are not limited to:
- Beryllium
- Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide
- Controlled Substances (Including Fentanyl)
- Heavy Metals
- Nitrogen Trichloride (Trichloramine)
- Polychlorinated Biphenyl’s (PCBs)
- Respirable Particulate
- Volatile Organic Compounds (Including Benzene, Toluene and Xylene)
- Welding Fumes
Sampling is conducted using validated methods published by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Laboratory analyses are performed by laboratories accredited by the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) or the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
