Hazardous Materials Surveys

Prior to conducting renovations or demolition of a building, a hazardous material survey must be conducted to prevent exposure to workers and occupants of the building.

Mould growth can compromise a building’s integrity and exposure to mould spores can raise health concerns, highlighting the importance of timely detection and remediation to maintain indoor air quality and safeguard occupants’ well-being.

Training Services

Apex is an authorized WorkSafeBC provider for Level 1 and Level 2 asbestos abatement worker training, as mandated by WorkSafeBC since January 1, 2024.

Indoor Air Quality Sampling

Indoor air quality (IAQ) issues stem from various factors, including the interplay of building materials and furnishings, indoor activities, climate conditions, and occupants. These problems can arise due to inadequate indoor environment management, presence of indoor air contaminants such as chemicals, dusts, molds, bacteria, and insufficient fresh air intake. Additionally, IAQ sampling may be used to evaluate smoke damage from residential or forest fires.

Noise, Air, and Surface Sampling

WorkSafeBC requires that no worker is exposed to a substance that exceeds the ceiling limit, short-term exposure limit, or 8-hour TWA limit prescribed by ACGIH.

Additionally, WorkSafeBC requires that employers must know the noise levels in their workplace if workers could be exposed to hazardous noise.

Silica Air Sampling

Silica dust can be generated during activities like cutting, grinding, or drilling materials containing silica, such as concrete, ceramics or stone. Exposure to silica dust can lead to serious health issues, including silicosis, lung cancer, and other respiratory diseases, making it imperative to minimize exposure through proper safety measures and controls.

DOP/POA Testing Services

DOP/POA testing is a method used to evaluate the efficiency of high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters by measuring their ability to remove particles of a specific size from the air.

Apex is proudly partnered with HepaTec Services to offer DOP/POA testing services throughout the province.
