Hazardous Materials Surveys
Pre-Renovation & Demolition
Prior to performing renovations or demolition of a building, a hazardous material survey must be conducted to prevent exposure to workers and occupants of the building.
The disturbance of building materials during construction or renovation work poses severe health hazards. The inhalation of asbestos fibres can damage delicate lung tissue, leading to serious health complications. These include, but are not limited to, lung cancer, asbestosis, and mesothelioma.
Our surveys meet WorkSafeBC regulations and include the identification of additional hazards including, but not limited to, lead-containing paint, heavy metals mould, silica, toxic, flammable and explosive materials.
Asbestos Management Inventory
WorkSafeBC requires asbestos inventories for all workplaces; even non-traditional workplaces like apartment buildings or condominiums with employed staff require this assessment.
With extensive experience, Apex is equipped to help clients fulfill their obligations, whether for single buildings or large portfolios such as municipal properties, school districts, or industrial facilities. We assess not only the presence of asbestos containing materials but also evaluate the potential risk to occupants based on friability, accessibility, and condition. Our services offer comprehensive reports and building drawings featuring labeled hazardous areas to ensure safety protocols are implemented. Additionally, we offer yearly inventory maintenance updates to reassess condition of identified hazards.
